RETURNS FROM THE DEAD!!! ... or at least hibernation

Sunday, November 2

yes... still lazy

Friday I went in to have my interview at SafePlace, which was pretty typical (tell me about yourself, what are your strengths, do you have any fears about volunteering?) but I ended up deciding to work with the children's programs! They were pretty excited since I am all artsy, and god I love doing crafts so its a great mix :) I mean, its still not the most happy situation ever, since all of these kids have at the very least seen domestic violence, but that also doesnt mean that they arnt still kids. And love doing crafts. So I think that will be good, and once I graduate and move into an apt. I can start doing pet fostering, which will be fun.

Halloween was pretty cool, Afshan and I just did some party hopping with the Ave. B guys and then hung out at their house for a while. I tried to dress up as Leela and was semi-successful (I couldnt really see through my 'eye' mask, so I had it up on my forehead a lot :P) but I really like the color my hair turned out. I started out with a purple, but it was really pale and I didnt really like it so I put a red over it so now its a nice bright purplely pink. Also I made quesodillas. Toaster oven quesodillas are amazing.

I gave platelets for the first time today! It was fun but it take a lot longer than giving whole blood, about 2 hours for the whole shabang. It was pretty cool to watch the machine that did it though, it sucks your blood out for about a minute and centrifuges it to get the platelets out, then spits it and some extra fluids back into you for a minute, and repeats for about an hour. But they have all these little dvd players so I was kept entertained :D Platelets look kind of gross once they are out of your blood... lumpy yellow stuff.

mrah. Essays are not fun, even when they are for good classes... What I really want to do is work on my design project, I like drawing with rulers and graph paper and stuff :D Isometric drawings are super! But I suppose this take-home test is more important...
