crunchy toast

murrr, so much for the regular posting. i really am a lazy butt.. but hey, it was finals, and now its summer, and its oh so hard to muster the energy to typity type when all i really want to do is sleep and read and mayhaps swim a bit. finals went well, pretty much as expected, didnt stress too much and now im done for the summer. my first week of lazy was mostly empty, had an awesome time on friday w/ jacob tracy and afshan going blackberry hunting (unsuccessful, though i did manage to rub plenty of poison ivy over my body), then took jacob's canoe out on town lake just in time to see the bats come out. very nice, i cant believe i had not done that until now, im going to make my family come with me this week and see it. ridiculous how many of those buggers fit under the bridge.

also saw prince caspian last night for dezi's bday, which was quite excellent despite afshans occasional sarcastic remarks. murr.... about to start work tomorrow, and hopefully getting a over-my-computer job w/ google to make a little extra monies, because i think im going to buy a motorcycle... afshan really wants me to get a car, and we are going up to see his uncle on tuesday and check out used cars, but my budget is strictly $9k, and im really concerned about gas economy, so im not at all convinced i will be able to find something to my standards and in my price range. so assuming i dont, i have everything pretty much lined up for the bike, i need to go into the dealership and put down a deposit for a ninja 250, the smallest one, and im signed up for a class in a couple weeks. even though afshans freaking out a bit he's said he will loan me some cash so i dont have to take out a loan, and my parents are fairly resigned as long as i always wear full gear and stuff. we will see, i am pretty convinced i can be perfectly safe if i learn how to handle the bike and how to drive defensively (and wear a helmet at all times :P ) so if i dont find an amazing deal tuesday its definitely the bike.

in much less happy news, monster, our smallest cutest ferret died yesterday. it wasnt a surprise, because she has been sick for about two weeks and has been losing weight steadily the whole time even though weve been medicating her and giving her foot and stuff as much as possible. she used to run into my bathroom everyday when dad let her out of the cage and immediately get into the bathroom cabinet so she could use my drawer to crawl onto the countertop and see what she could steal/chew/knock off. i especially loved her because she was one of the tiniest ferrets ive ever seen and just as hyper/crazy/evil as any weve had. mah. im going to miss having her around, but mom said she might have had cancer, so i guess theres not a whole lot we could have done.
